Zoya Satins Collection Fall 2013

This week I have the Zoya Fall 2013 collections to show you. Today, we're going to take a look at the Satins part of the Zoya Cashmeres and Satins Collection. Zoya Satins consists of five metallic shades with one gold flakie topper.

Each picture shows two coats with one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat. The second picture of each polish shows one coat of Zoya Maria-Luisa on my accent nail with the exception of Zoya Mason.

Zoya Channing
We're going to start with my favorite, Zoya Channing. It's a deep reddish orange metallic that is the perfect shade for the Fall season.

 Zoya Maria Luisa
Here I am holding Zoya Maria-Luisa which is a gold flakie in a clear base. I am wearing one coat on top of Zoya Channing on my accent nail. You can make Maria-Luisa opaque with several coats or wear it on top of other colors.

Zoya Mason
Zoya Mason is a bright fuchsia metallic polish.

Zoya Maria Luisa
On my accent nail is two coats of Zoya Maria-Luisa on top of Zoya Mason. As you can see, it's almost opaque. With one more coat, Maria-Luisa would have full coverage. For the rest of the swatches, I am wearing just one coat of Maria-Luisa on my accent nail.

Zoya Claudine
Zoya Claudine is a dark grey metallic polish.

Zoya Giovanna

Zoya Giovanna is an emerald green metallic polish.

Zoya Neve
Zoya Neve is a sapphire blue metallic polish.

Wantable August Box Review

I have something a little bit...ok a lot different for you today. Makeup! What??? Yep! This post does not involve polish. Wantable recently asked me if I'd like to try out one of their subscription boxes. I hesitated because well, this blog is about nail polish. I went on their website and poked around and saw that nail polish was one of the products you can possible get in your box. Not just nail polish, Rainbow Honey nail polish (for this month's box). Sold. I said yes, and was directed to making an account and setting up my profile.

Wantable is a makeup or accessory subscription box. If you sign up for the subscription, it is $36.00 a month. For just one box without the subscription it is $40.00 They say that if you don't like your box, you can return it and you can cancel your subscription at anytime.

When you first sign up, you set up your beauty profile. I opted for the makeup box because I wanted to get nail polish. To make sure you get the products that you'll love, you get to customize your profile.

After you do this step, you have a few more steps in which you customize each category. You will customize what you like in terms of color and finish for each product type. After that is finished, you submit your profile and wait for your box of goodies to arrive!

Here is the box I received.

It comes with a welcome card, information about your products, etc.

Here are the contents of my box.

You may have noticed by now that I didn't get nail polish. Now, with this being a review, I didn't demand a refund or return the box. I did, however, e-mail the company and asked them why my box didn't have the nail polish for the month. They responded very quickly (after reviewing my profile) and said that although I set my nail polish preferences to "love" I set other product types to "love" as well. My nail polish preference was equal to other products making what I got a toss up.

So, if you really want a specific type of product (nail polish, lip stick, etc.) set that to "love" and everything else a little lower. That will make your chances of getting that specific product better.

Let's look at what I did get. Now, I'm not a makeup guru so I've never heard of these brands but this looks like a really good deal.

Now, I'm not completely new to make up. I've been wearing it since Junior High. I'm just not an expert.
With that said, I will tell you what I thought of each product and show you a swatch.

Here is everything from my box unpackaged and ready to go. The white item is a package of nail polish remover wipes with it's lid off.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eyeshadow: Bright Eyes
The actual eyeshadow is as big as a quarter. I set my eyeshadow preferences to neutral. This is too yellow for my skin tone but the quality seems to be good.

Lise Watier Eyeshadow: 132 Beige Scintillant
On it's own, this is too pink for me. I would mix it with a little bit of brown eyeshadow to use it. The makeup is about the same size as the eyeshadow above.

Cailyn Cosmetics Eyeliner:  Line Fix Gel Eyeliner in Black
I love this eyeliner. It goes on smoothly and stays put. This is so easy to apply, I will be buying more when I run out. It is waterproof so use eye makeup remover to get it off.

Lise Watier Lip Gloss: Day Light
This is another product that I really like. It's pretty shear but it has a nice shine and shimmer. The wand has a light inside the cap. I'm not sure what the point of that is but the gloss is really nice. It's not sticky, stays on for a long time and it smells really good. I just had dinner and I still have plenty of gloss on my lips.

LAQA & CO. Polish Remover Pads
I was very skeptical when I opened this product. How can a little pad take off my nail polish? I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised with how well they work. Keep in mind, I wasn't wearing glitter. I was wearing two different creme polishes (one on each hand). They leave your fingers greasy (to moisturize your cuticles) so you'll need to wash your hands after your done. I love that they don't dry out your skin like acetone does. Will I be purchasing more of this product? No. As much as I like it, I would go broke if I used these for my polish removal. I go through a lot of acetone and cotton balls. Would I prefer to use these over acetone?  Absolutely, it's just more affordable for a polish blogger to use a cheap bottle of acetone. If you're not a blogger or change your polish every day, I'd definitely recommend this product.

This is all I needed to remove polish from both hands. I needed one pad for about one and a half nails.

KBShimmer The Grape Beyond and Would Jubilee It?

KBShimmer is an indie brand that I really love but have never blogged about. I didn't realize that until recently and I can't believe I've neglected them! What is wrong with me?!? I don't have a ton of their polish, let me count....I have nine. I bought three a year or so ago and they got lost in my untried pile. Again, what is wrong with me? I am going to fix that starting with this post.

KBShimmer has been around for five years. To celebrate their fifth anniversary, they released the duo I'm showing you today (The Grape Beyond and Would Jubilee It?).

These two polishes are meant to be worn together but you can of course mix and match as you please.

I absolutely love this polish. I'm obsessed with purple polish but this one is special. The Grape Beyond is a medium purple that leans to the blue side. It has a beautifully delicate blue micro shimmer and to top it off, it dries to a satiny matte finish.

The formula is just right, I have zero complaints. It goes on smoothy and the finish is to die for. If you have a lot of ridges on your nail, you may want to use a ridge filler. Other than that, perfection! I used two coats and no top coat for the two pictures above.

This is what it looks like with top coat. Top coat brings out the shimmer and shimmer is always a good thing. Right? Right! When you add top coat, give your nails a little more time to dry. I didn't, and smudged my index finger.

Can you be "in love" with a polish? Perhaps I need therapy because I'm obsessed with this glitter topper. I'm really into the circle glitter trend we've been seeing in the indie world lately and this one is a must have. I used one thick coat; the glitter pay off is amazing. I didn't use regular brush strokes, I dabbed it on. I used two thick coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast to smooth out my nail. Love it!

Big circles, little circles, hexagons, and tiny bar glitter...yes please! I love the vibrant mix of colors. They really do go perfectly with The Grape Beyond. This is a polish that you won't want to take off.

You can purchase KBShimmer polishes, soap, bath bombs, and more on their website, here

Do you own any polishes from KBShimmer? Which ones are your must haves? Let me know in the comment section below!

Lumina Lacquer - 1000 Julys

Today I have an amazing glitter bomb to show you, Lumnia Lacquer 1000 Julys. I can't get enough of polishes like this! In fact, I wore this baby for an entire week. I did not want to take it off but I have a lot of  swatching to do!

Lumina Lacquer is an indie brand that makes gorgeous glitters. If you haven't checked them out, you are seriously missing out. Right now, she is making glitter bombs that have Mickey Mouse shaped glitters. You know, I've already snatched those up!

1000 Julys is a blue based glitter polish with stars, circles, hexagons, micro glitters and more. They are different shades of blue and some are black. There are also holographic glitters in this beauty. The glitter pay off is killer, I used two coats on top of one coat of Zoya Ibiza (dark blue). Like any other glitter bomb, this needs a couple coats of a thick top coat. I used two thick coats of Seche Vite and could have used a third. I'm in love with this polish. Let's take a look!

Lumina Lacquer 1000 Julys

Oh man, I can't get over how beautiful and sparkly this polish is. If I didn't have so much to swatch, I'd put this back on. I love it that much!!!!!

1000 Julys is currently sold out but Lumina Lacquer gets restocked fairly frequently. You can find them, here. To keep updated with Lumina Lacquer, I'd follow their Instagram account, here
