OPI If You Moust You Moust

I have been thinking about getting acrylics for a while. My nails are strong and can grow pretty long but they break a lot once they get to the length I love. That drives me nuts. I have talked about my chronic pain issues from my spine before. My pain makes it hard for me to sit for long periods of time. Some days I can sit, others I can't. This makes it hard for me to predict when I'll be up to getting my nails done, hair done, etc. Very annoying. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I felt like I could handle getting acrylics applied and impulsively walked into a salon I knew nothing about and got it done. Big mistake. They were hideous as you are about to see. Way to thick for my taste. I soaked them off a week later and my nails are trashed. You will see a couple of swatches with my acrylics and then you will see my nubs. Until the damage grows completely out, they will be nubs. Nothing wrong with nubs, I just like mine long. =)

Some polish is too thin and the marks where the acrylics used to be show. I won't be showing those until they grow out. My nails are too damaged to handle how often I used to swatch so I won't be posting as often until my sad little nails have recovered.

With that said, here is OPI If You Moust You Moust from the Vintage Minnie Mouse collection (I got the mini set). It's a lovely bubble gum pink. It's a little thin, I used three coats and topped it off with Seche Vite.

OPI Your Web or Mine?

This is going to be a short post because I don't have anything nice to say about this polish. Color is ug, brushstrokes are out of control, formula was goopy, and why is there a pink in a Spiderman collection?
If frosty rosey/goldish/uggo polishes that leave visible brushstrokes is your thing, I recommend this to you. So disappointing OPI but I still love you. Just don't do it again. ;)

Next up? Another Chanel dupe that is fab-u-lous!

OPI Into the Night

Into the Night was one of the duds from The Amazing Spiderman collection (in my opinion). Application was funky as it leaves visible brushstrokes that are typical of frost finishes. I dislike frosts so it's no surprise that I dislike Into the Night. The color is fine, the finish just ruined it for me!
Definitely one to pass.

I really don't have much more to say about this one. What do you think?

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard *Picture Heavy*

While my husband finished school, we lived with his parents because my teaching salary didn't allow us a lot of (ok any) wiggle room. The week he got his job, I bought a bottle of Chanel Peridot to celebrate. I know, I should have payed a bill instead. =) A week later I was put on medical leave and later disability but for a week, I could afford Chanel nail polish and it was awesome. Little did I know, there would be so many dupes of my beloved Peridot. I hadn't been obsessed with polish very long at that point so I didn't realize I could just wait and get a cheaper version. That's ok, I love my fancy nail polish and it makes me feel special.

I now have two bottles of this magical duochrome, one being OPI's Just Spotted the Lizard from The Amazing Spiderman Collection of course! They are dead on, I can't tell the difference at all even with the formula which is lovely, by the way.

I think this polish is so unique. I love the golden green shift. I tried to capture the light blue shift, but it didn't happen. You can see the blue in the edges of the bottle. It does translate on the nail, I promise.
I took a lot of pictures of this stunner, I couldn't get enough!

I don't know why anyone would want to cover this up with a shatter but here it is with Shatter the Scales. Not my cup of tea.

Here is my fancy polish, Chanel Peridot! *swoon*

What do you think? Are you as smitten as I am or can you leave this on the shelf?

OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls

This is the second polish from The Amazing Spiderman Collection that I'm going to show to you. I wasn't sure about this one at first. It looked white in the promos (to me at least) and I didn't feel like I needed another white. Then the fabulous swatches started popping up and I realized this was no ordinary white. This is actually grey. The lightest shade possible before being white that is. It gives an appearance of a dirty white with a touch of grey and maybe a little bit of blue? I thought my eye detected that but it has been wrong before.

The great thing is, it's not a pain in the butt to apply like most whites. It didn't streak, self leveled well, and was perfect in three coats. Being a light color, I like to give an extra coat to make sure VNL doesn't sneak through. With the lovely formula and the fact that I don't have anything like this, a love connection was made. Awwww. That was cheesy. Let's move on to the pictures shall we?

Here is is with Shatter the Scales (one coat) which is apart of The Amazing Spiderman Collection. It is a glittery forest green shatter that I think is pretty on some of the polishes in the collection. On others, looks funky. I don't know why I bought this. I'm over shatters but the "this one has glitter" thinking suckered me in. I'm so weak!! I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite and viola!

Let me know what you think!! I love reading your comments.

OPI Call me Gwen-Ever

Ok, so I have The Amazing Spiderman collection from OPI. I have swatched about three out of the six so I'm going to show them one at a time. I like a few of them but there are some major duds and where is the red? Seriously OPI? Do you not know what Spiderman's suit looks like? Let me remind you even though I know you won't see this.

Major, major, DUH in my opinion. For the love...

With that said, this is my favorite orange so far. It's not bright like all the others we've seen in this year's summer collections. It's a darker deeper orange creme mixed with a bit of red. Formula was fab, went on creamy smooth and only needed two coats. I actually kept this polish on for more than one day. I think it stayed on for four days. Big freaking deal in my world. I know, I'm a nut.

After a day or so, I decided to goof around and turned this into a half moon mani with black (Orly Liquid Vinyl). I didn't like it so I added some dots with Call me Gwen-Ever. Much better. Weird I know, but I like it.

After I was done with my right hand (I'm a lefty) I wanted to see how Lynnderella Connect the Dots would look. Love. It.

I sported to these two very different looks for another day or two.

That's how I roll.

I like Connect the Dots better than my half moon mani but I do like both. What do you think?

Thanks for reading!
