Press Release: NOPI Carrie Underwood Collection

NOPI has teamed up with Carrie Underwood to create a collection of 14 polishes this January. While Country music isn't for me, I do like Carrie Underwood. I also like...ok love polish. Let's check out the new shades and see if there are any must haves.

Carrie’d Away - Carrie’s own gold record signature shade.

American as Apple Pie – Tradition runs deep in this classic red.

Backstage Pass – I want access to this brown with purple nuances.

Carnival Cotton Candy – This spun sugar pink is all about fun.

Color Me Country – This soul-ful hot pink makes me want to sing.

Fisher Queen – I’m hooked on this deep, deep eggplant.

Goodbye Shoes – Hit the road, but leave me this standalone gray-green.

Lips Are Dripping Honey – This multi-gold glitter is sweet on you.

Love My Pups – Let’s “paws” for this adorably sweet pink.

Party Bus – Celebrate on-the-go with this party-perfect confetti glitter.

Sing You Like a Bee – Put some of this frosty ice on that, honey!
Some Hearts – You can’t beat this romantic coral dream.

Southern Charm – Frankly my dear, this nude shade looks charming on you.

Sweet Daisy – A bouquet of southern peach blossoms.

The Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection will launch in January 2014 where NOPI is sold.

This collection has a lot of colors in the pink family which isn't my favorite color. I am, of course, interested in the glitters. Are there any must haves for you? Let me know in the comment section below!

OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection Liquid Sands

As you probably know, OPI released a massive holiday collection this year. 18 polishes! Yikes! I purchased these myself so I couldn't justify buying all 18. A large portion of my polish collection is red so I definitely couldn't justify getting all of the reds as tempting as they were. As I stood in Ulta drooling over the display, I had to keep telling myself that I probably had a dupe of most of the reds at home. It was not easy but I kept myself under control. Sort of...

I couldn't stop myself from buying all six of the Liquid Sand shades. I am obsessed with textured polish (as long as they have glitter) and there was no way I could pass these up. I thought I'd show you my swatches of the Liquid Sands first. Then I'll show you what I picked from the rest of the collection. Are you ready for some glitter?

OPI Baby Please Come Home
OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection
Baby Please Come Home is my favorite from the bunch. It's a dusty metallic purple that can lean more silver in certain lights. Two coats.

OPI Liquid Sand
I thought this was a really cool picture. It doesn't look like this in real life but for some reason my camera had trouble separating (or blending) the purple and silver.

OPI Emotions
Textured Nail Polish
Emotions is a black polish with black glitter. Three coats.

 OPI It's Frosty Outside
It's Frosty Outside is a silver polish with silver glitter. Two coats.

 OPI Kiss Me At Midnight
Blue Textured Nail Polish
Kiss Me At Midnight is a bright blue polish with glitter. Another favorite from the collection. Two coats.

OPI Make Him Mine
OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand
Make Him Mine is a dusty rosy pink polish with silver glitter. Two coats.

OPI Silent Stars Go By
OPI Textured Nail Polish
Silent Stars Go By is a lighter version of Make Him Mine. They are so close, I'm not sure why they're in the same collection. I still like them both but I have polish issues. Two coats.

I hope the textured polish trend sticks around because I can't get enough! OPI and Zoya make the best textured polishes in my opinion. Have I already said that?

I hope you enjoyed my swatches!

Zoya Zenith Collection

I was really impressed with last year's Holiday collection by Zoya. I love this collection just as much and was especially excited to see Dream and Payton. I was hoping Zoya would put out polishes like last year's Aurora, Blaze and Storm. In my opinion, this collection is a must have. I didn't have any issues with the formulas. They all applied flawlessly which is what I expect from Zoya.

Zoya Belinda
Zoya Zenith Collection

Zoya Zenith Collection
Belinda is a deep purple metallic with a beautifully subtle shimmer. It was originally designed for designer Zang Toi.

Zoya Cassedy
Zoya Zenith Collection

Zoya Zenith Collection
Cassedy is a pewter metallic that's full of beautiful shimmer. I looks like it could be related to Zoya Trixie.

 Zoya Dream
Zoya Zenith Collection

Zoya Zenith Collection
Zoya Dream is the perfect name for this deep ocean blue. It's packed with holographic sparkle just like Zoya AuroraBlaze, and Storm. This is tied for my favorite with Payton. My yard is covered under a lot of snow so I was unable to get outside pictures. It sparkles just like Aurora, Blaze, and Storm

 Zoya Mosheen
Zoya Zenith Collection
Zoya Mosheen has a blue jelly base and iridescent bar glitter and tiny iridescent hex glitter. I think it's meant to be layered because of how sheer it is. It has a really good glitter payoff so I only needed one coat. I layered it over Belinda and Dream.

Zoya Mosheen over Zoya Dream
Zoya Zenith Collection

Zoya Zenith Collection
Mosheen looks amazing over Dream. It has an insane sparkle even inside. You have to try this combination. It would also look beautiful over Payton. I had already swatched Payton when I got to Mosheen which is why I don't have a picture of that combo.

Zoya Payton
 Zoya Zenith Collection

Zoya Zenith Collection
Zoya Payton is a dark red leaning purple with holographic glitter.

Zoya Seraphina
Zoya Zenith Collection

Zoya Zenith Collection
Zoya Seraphina is light silver metallic polish with dark silver shimmer.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers Glow Glow Purple

With all of the nail polish I've acquired over the years, it's surprising that I've never worn a glow in the dark polish before. I know, I don't know how that happened either! When Kim from Smokey Mountain Lacquers told me she was sending me a polish that glows, I was really excited!

The name says it all, Glow Glow Purple is a purple polish that glows. Ok, I guess there is more to tell. Let's look at a pretty picture first.

Glow Glow Purple has a little bit of a jelly polish consistency going on but it dries matte. The first coat was sheer but it built up nicely (I used three coats). Like I said, it dries matte but when you apply top coat this beautiful shimmer pops out.

I love this shade of purple.

 Macro!

Surprise, it glows blue! Love it!

Have you tried a glow in the dark polish? What did you think about it?

Glow Glow Purple will be available at Smokey Mountain Lacquers' Etsy store,  December 23 for $9.00.
