31 Day Challenge - Day 7 Black & White Nails

I was planning on doing some nail art for this challenge but I just wasn't up to it. I've been wanting to try this polish and hope it's ok that there is red in addition to black and white. =)

I have a thing for black and white polish. It started with Lynnderella's Connect the Dots. I couldn't get that for a while so I snagged Sticks and Stones and later CtD. Why? I don't know! They are virtually the same. I have problems. My favorite color combination is black, white, and red so I was on the look out for a glitter polish with those colors. When I saw Lush Lacquer's Midnight Affair, I had to have it. It's exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to put it on top of a dark grey but thought it best to use black for this challenge. Next time, I'll try grey. 

Midnight Affair has an amazing formula, just like the other glitters I've tried from Lush Lacquer. I applied it just like regular polish and it spread evenly on the nail. I love the proportions of the colors, it's just right. 

For this mani, I used two coats of a standard black creme, two coats of Midnight Affair, and two coats of Seche Vite.

31 Day Challenge - Day 6 Violet Nails

Those of you who know me or have been reading this blog for a while know how much I love Zoya. I love their colors, formula, customer service, cute little bottles, etc. etc. Zoya rocks. If you haven't tried this brand yet, you are seriously missing out. They have killer promotions that make this fabulous brand more affordable. They also have a polish named Mira, how awesome is that? 

Zoya recently had a Back to School BOGO sale that I took full advantage of. I got six new pretties that I'm dying to show you. Today is the unique and gorgeous Daul. 

 Daul is an interesting polish. Zoya describes it as a "medium red-toned purple base with heavy purple and gold iridescent metallic sparkle."

It looks different depending on the lighting. Inside, it looks more gold and in the sun, it's purple tones come out. 

I couldn't decide on which pictures to show you. Daul looks so different in all of them.

I used flash to bring out the purple tones. It looks more like this outdoors.

Formula was fabulous as it always is with Zoya. I used three coats to give it extra depth and hide my acrylic lines. I have about 1/4 inch left! Yay! Oh, Seche Vite for the top coat of course.

I love how my index finger looks more gold and the rest more purple. 

Daul is apart of the Designer, Diva, and Gloss collection that recently came out. It's funky and I love it. You can find it here along with other awesome polishes.

31 Day Challenge - Day 5 Blue Nails

Lush Lacquer is one of my favorite indie polish brands. I own five now (this is the third I've swatched so far) and I love them all. Bubble Yummy is amazing, it has a blue jelly base, blue and silver micro glitter, and medium blue hex glitter. I think that's everything that's in there. My mani looks darker and bluer than the bottle because I used Zoya Song as my base color. 

The formula was amazing. It went on smoothly, glitter applied evenly (no fishing or dabbing needed), and dried quickly. I used two coats of Zoya Song, two coats of Bubble Yummy, and one coat of Seche Vite. I did something different for my base coat, I'm going to show you what I did for that soon.

This is one of those polishes that make you want to stare at your nails all day.

The great thing about Lush Lacquer is that you don't have to wait for them to restock their store. You can order whatever you want anytime you want. It does take about 3 weeks for my order to get to me but it's worth it to me. I'd rather wait a few weeks than set my alarm to order when a store is being restocked and not get anything because everything sells out within minutes. ;)

31 Day Challenge - Day 4 (Green)

This has been in my "untrieds" pile for a couple of months now. I am not happy about taking this off for my next challenge mani. I may cry a little. Girly Bits Magically Delicious is amazing. I couldn't stop staring at my nails and neither could my sister. ;) If you like green polish you must get this. It's on sale at Llarowe right now so it's the perfect time! For this mani, I put on two coats of Zoya Meg, three coats of Magically Delicious (I wanted it to be super glittery), and two coats of Seche Vite.

 Magically Delicious is packed with a fine grassy green holographic glitter, small gold hex glitter, and large gold squares in a clear base.

 To apply the glitter, use the dabbing method to put the squares where you'd like them. The squares came out very easily. No fishing required!

 This picture (and the picture below) was taken with flash so you can see how sparkly it is. Don't you love it?

Can you see why I don't want to take it off? It's beautiful!

The 31 Day Challenge - Day 3 (Yellow)

My back is angry today so this will be quick. Yellow is not my favorite color. It's nothing against yellow, it just doesn't look very good with my skin tone. I only own three yellow polishes and I've already swatched them for you guys. I decided to do some stamping and chose the brightest yellow I have in. I chose Orly Glowstick (Feel the Vibe Collection) which is a highlighter yellow that came out this summer. I put on two coats of OPI Alpine Snow first to make Glowstick pop. After that dried, I put on a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast (top coat) and let that completely dry. I then used Bundle Monster plate #305 (BM-305). After that dried, I put on Wicked Fast on my thumb which smeared my entire design. Doh! I switched to Seche Vite for my other fingers and didn't have any more smearing.

The 31 Day Challenge - Day 2 (Orange)

I decided to use another polish from The Germany Collection by OPI for today's challenge. Deutsche You Want Me Baby? (DYWMB) is a rich orange polish with a silly name. It's the perfect shade for fall. It reminds me of pumpkins and has that great shimmer that gives it a glow. To make it extra special and even more perfect for the fall, I added one coat of Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings. I didn't use brushstrokes to apply Cauldron Drippings, I dabbed it on to spread the glitter out evenly. As usual, I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite. If I were to wear this for more than a day, I'd put two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it out.

 I really love how these two polishes look together. I may even do this again for Halloween. Both polishes had a great formula and were very easy to work with.

I'm in love with Cauldron Drippings. It's such a shame that it's so impossible to get now. If you have an extra grand laying around (snorts), you might find it here. I fortunately got this before Llarowe stopped carrying it. There are so many great indie polish makers that are releasing amazing Halloween polishes that I recommend grabbing one of those to recreate this look. It would definitely be easier to get and much more affordable.

The 31 Day Challenge - Day 1 (Red)

Red is my favorite color and my nail polish collection reflects that. I have a lot of red polish, many of which I haven't even tried yet. I know, it's a shame. It was hard to decide which polish to pick for today. I've had my picks from OPI's Germany Collection for a while so I thought I'd start there. 

Danke Shiny Red is a beautiful shimmery red. All of the swatches I've seen online look bright red but my bottle had an orange tinge to it. Maybe it was from a weird batch? I still dig it. It had a great formula, no complaints here. It went on like butter.

I used three coats of Danke Shiny Red (two is enough) and used an image from Bundle Monster plate 316 (BM-316) with China Glaze Passion. I topped it all of with a coat of Seche Vite. As you can see, I was impatient and smudged my ring finger. =(
