Crows Toes Tiki Torch

I'm back with another polish from CrowsToes! This is the second polish I'm showing you from the One Mad, Crazy Summer Collection. I have to show this one on it's own so I can put up a bunch of pictures. I think this is another must have from CrowsToes.

CrowsToes Tiki Torch is a dark raspberry jelly with gold and fuchsia holographic glitter. Being a jelly, I layered it on top of China Glaze Red-Y and Willing. I personally like to layer my jelly polishes but that isn't necessary with this one. I used two coats of each polish with one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat. The formula is perfection. Just like a jelly, it is sheer but can be layered to be more opaque. Two or three coats will make Tiki Torch opaque on it's own. All pictures were taken outside.

Nail Art Society - Gold Flake Kit

Discalimer: I am a "Renowned Artist" for Nail Art Society. I have provided my affiliate link in this post.

It's time for another nail art kit from Nail Art Society! Today, I'm going to show you what subscribers received (or will be soon) for the September 2013 kit which is called the "Gold Flake Kit." Instead of referring to kits by the month, they will have a name from now on.

Check out everything that comes with this kit! I was thrilled to get the Jessica (Cinnamon Kiss) polish. I have been wanting to try this brand for a while and this shade was on my wish list. Let's take a closer look at the goodies.

The kit came in this beautiful black velvet bag. It made me feel like I was getting something extra special and luxurious. It really worked with the gold theme.

Jessica Nail Polish - Cinnamon Kiss
Cala 3D Nail Decorations (stickers)

Below are the stickers out of their packaging. They have a glittery texture to them and are nice a sturdy.

Silver and gold nail art foil. I recommend using tweezers with the foil. They are very delicate and require a gentle touch.

Adoro Rhinestones

This is the look I came up with using Jessica Cinnamon Kiss, Cala 3D stickers, gold foil, gold studs (from my personal supplies), and gold striping tape (from my personal supplies).
The scalloped edge of the foil was created by placing the bat sticker upside down along the edge of the gold foil.

Jessica Cinnamon Kiss had a wonderful formula. It had a creamy formula that was opaque within two coats. It was nice and smooth, self leveled well, and dried quickly. I was very pleased with it and look forward to trying more polishes from this brand.

Nail Art Society kits are $11.95 plus shipping and handling. In addition to the kit, you will receive a card that has pictures of manis using the kit supplies from the Nail Art Society's "Renowned Artists" (formerly Gurus). I think this is an excellent deal. You can sign up, here (my affiliate link). That is my personal affiliate link, I do not receive compensation if you sign up.

Being a "Renowned Artist" for Nail Art Society, I have had a sneak peek into the next kit. It is going to be my favorite kit so far. You seriously won't want to miss it. Here's a little hint! To get the "I <3 Studs" kit you need to subscribe by October 15.

Here is a giveaway opportunity!

Cult Nails Quench

I've been on a Cult Nails kick lately as you have probably noticed. Can you blame me? Cult Nails has amazing nail polish. Cult Nails Quench is one of the polishes you can win in my giveaway. I know a lot of people think red polish is old fashioned but I am not in that camp. Red is my favorite color and I love a good red polish. Quench is simply delicious. Can I say delicious? You know what I mean. =)

Quench is a straight up deepened red creme nail polish. The formula is on the thick side so if applied carefully, you can almost get away with one coat. I'm not that skilled so you're looking at two coats. It quickly dries to a beautiful high gloss. I put on a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat to protect my manicure. As for making it extra glossy, it didn't need any help.

I can see why this was named Quench. It's so shiny it looks juicy. The name is a perfect fit for this beauty and I can see it becoming my go to red.

If you like red, this is a must have in my opinion. I love it by itself but it would also be gorgeous in nail art. If you'd like to have a chance of winning this, head on over to my giveaway!

You can purchase Quench on Cult Nail's website, here

31 Day Challenge - Day 12 Stripes

Today's mani is a bit funky. You will probably either love it or hate it. I'm in the loving it camp. It is full of the things I adore: red, black, glitter, and rhinestones. I think it's awesome. You be the judge!

I began with a base coat of Elmer's Glue. No, that is not a typo. Want to know why I did that? Click here to find out. If you haven't heard about using regular kid's glue as a base coat be prepared to have your mind blown and your life with glitter forever changed. Do I sound dramatic enough? ;)

After my glue dried, I put on two coats of Butter London Knees Up and one coat of Seche Vite top coat. After that was completely dry, I put three strips of striping tape on each nail. One piece was placed in the middle of the nail. The other two were placed on a diagonal.

Butter London Gobsmacked was the next step. I applied two coats as quickly as possible (you don't want the polish to dry on top of striping tape) and then carefully removed the tape.

I then put on Seche Vite for my top coat and quickly set the rhinestones on the nail. I made sure to put another coat of Seche Vite on to secure the rhinestones.

Let's talk formula. Knees Up applied flawlessly. It's a gorgeous metallic red. Red being my favorite color, I have a lot of red polish. I see a pretty red polish in the store and it's tough getting out of there without it. Yesterday, I caved because Ulta had a BOGO for Butter London. If you are not like me and don't have very many reds, I recommend Knees Up.

Gobsmacked also had a fabulous formula. Applied perfectly, no complaints or advice here. Butter London describes it as "a heavily pigmented charcoal grey glitter with a slightly textured finish." I recommend Gobsmacked as well if you are looking for a fun glitter. This will get a lot of use from me doing Halloween manis.

What do you think of my funky striped mani? I won't cry if you don't like it, I promise. Maybe if everyone said that I'd shed a tear or two. <;)

The 31 Day Challenge - Day 1 (Red)

Red is my favorite color and my nail polish collection reflects that. I have a lot of red polish, many of which I haven't even tried yet. I know, it's a shame. It was hard to decide which polish to pick for today. I've had my picks from OPI's Germany Collection for a while so I thought I'd start there.

Danke Shiny Red is a beautiful shimmery red. All of the swatches I've seen online look bright red but my bottle had an orange tinge to it. Maybe it was from a weird batch? I still dig it. It had a great formula, no complaints here. It went on like butter.

I used three coats of Danke Shiny Red (two is enough) and used an image from Bundle Monster plate 316 (BM-316) with China Glaze Passion. I topped it all of with a coat of Seche Vite. As you can see, I was impatient and smudged my ring finger. =(

Here is Danke Shiny Red by itself.

Just for kicks and giggles, here is a picture of what I did for this challenge last year.
