CrowsToes One Trick Pony

I have the One Crazy, Mad Summer Collection by CrowsToes and I've been going back and forth with how to show them to you. I originally planned on doing a collection post but I just can't do that. I have too many pictures from this collection and I'm having a hard time deciding which pictures to show. I want to show them all! So, I'm chopping it up. Today, I'm showing you One Trick Pony.

One Trick Pony is insane. It's a holographic polish that either looks purple or green depending on the lighting. As you will see, the holo effect is extremely strong. The formula was great, I only needed two coats. Top coat does not weaken the holo effect at all (I used Cult Nails Wicked Fast).

Now, for the holo spam. Put on your sunglasses and strap on your bibs.

Are you still here or have you already left to purchase this? I don't blame you. Well, in case anyone is still reading this here is a list of places that carry CrowsToes.

KBShimmer The Grape Beyond and Would Jubilee It?

KBShimmer is an indie brand that I really love but have never blogged about. I didn't realize that until recently and I can't believe I've neglected them! What is wrong with me?!? I don't have a ton of their polish, let me count....I have nine. I bought three a year or so ago and they got lost in my untried pile. Again, what is wrong with me? I am going to fix that starting with this post.

KBShimmer has been around for five years. To celebrate their fifth anniversary, they released the duo I'm showing you today (The Grape Beyond and Would Jubilee It?).

These two polishes are meant to be worn together but you can of course mix and match as you please.

I absolutely love this polish. I'm obsessed with purple polish but this one is special. The Grape Beyond is a medium purple that leans to the blue side. It has a beautifully delicate blue micro shimmer and to top it off, it dries to a satiny matte finish.

The formula is just right, I have zero complaints. It goes on smoothy and the finish is to die for. If you have a lot of ridges on your nail, you may want to use a ridge filler. Other than that, perfection! I used two coats and no top coat for the two pictures above.

This is what it looks like with top coat. Top coat brings out the shimmer and shimmer is always a good thing. Right? Right! When you add top coat, give your nails a little more time to dry. I didn't, and smudged my index finger.

Can you be "in love" with a polish? Perhaps I need therapy because I'm obsessed with this glitter topper. I'm really into the circle glitter trend we've been seeing in the indie world lately and this one is a must have. I used one thick coat; the glitter pay off is amazing. I didn't use regular brush strokes, I dabbed it on. I used two thick coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast to smooth out my nail. Love it!

Big circles, little circles, hexagons, and tiny bar glitter...yes please! I love the vibrant mix of colors. They really do go perfectly with The Grape Beyond. This is a polish that you won't want to take off.

You can purchase KBShimmer polishes, soap, bath bombs, and more on their website, here

Born Pretty Store - Gold Nail Art Stickers

Yesterday, I showed you a mani I did using an adorable nail art bow from Born Pretty Store. I explained that there are different designs you can choose from that one item number. I also said that I made the mistake of not picking my pattern for the next item I had to show you. Be so careful when purchasing an item that has different options. If you don't choose, something random will come to your mailbox. I unfortunately made that mistake with this item. I wanted pattern #1 but ended up getting pattern #3. Now, this is a product review so I did not pay for this item. It was my fault for not reading carefully and not specifying what I wanted. I chose not to exchange the stickers and to work with what I got. I think it would be easier if each pattern had it's own item number but I should have payed closer attention. The moral of the story? Don't order online when you haven't had your caffeine yet (or something like that). Moving on.

For this mani, I used Zoya Jem and gold nail art stickers from Born Pretty Store. You can find these stickers (and others), here. I applied the stickers after my polish was completely dry and then applied two thick coats of Seche Vite to get a smooth surface.

You get one sheet of the stickers in your order. As you can see, I had already started using them when the picture was taken. They arrived in a plastic package completely flat and undamaged.

The stickers are sturdy and easy to use. I just lifted up a strip and cut the amount of pieces I needed from it. The adhesive is strong but not so strong that you can't rearrange the sticker on your nail if needed. I did use top coat on top of the sticker to make sure it stayed in place and to get a smooth surface.

Although it wasn't the pattern I wanted, I think I made it work. It's not my favorite mani but it's not my least favorite either. I'm sure there are a lot of creative things you can do with these but I had nail blogger's block. Is that a thing? Let's say it is. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

You can purchase these stickers for $2.98 (free shipping), here. Make sure you specify which pattern you'd like. If you'd like an extra 10% off, use the coupon code below.

Which pattern is your favorite?
