Cult Nails Annalicious and Captivated

Before I show you the rest of Cult Nail's Untamed Collection, I want to show you what Annalicious looks like with Captivated on top. I'm still using pictures that I took before my surgery since I'm not up to painting my nails yet. I hope to be able to swatch the rest of the Untamed Collection by Monday but I can't make any promises. =)

I already had Captivated in my stash but hadn't tried it on yet. When I swatched Annalicious, I knew that Captivated would be perfect with it.

Captivated has a bright coral base and a ton of gold and coral glitter. This is two coats of Captivated on top of three coats of Annalicious.

Aren't they the perfect pair?

Captivated is very easy to work with. It's a little thick because of how dense the glitter is. The thickness didn't bother me with this one. It applied evenly, the  glitter spread out perfectly, and it dried quickly.

You can find Cult Nails polishes here. Annalicious is Limited Edition but Captivated is apart of the core line.

What do you think? Do you prefer Annalicious alone or with extra bling? Let me know in the comments below.

Cult Nails Annalicious

I'm still not 100% so this will be a quick post. Annalicious is from Coco's Untamed Collection which you can get here. It is so bright, I had a hard time getting a good picture. It's not the polishes fault, I'm still learning how to use my "fancy camera." =) This is a bright orange red polish that is full of fine gold shimmer. The shimmer seems to be the same shimmer Deal With It has.

The formula was very easy to work with. It was a little thin but not in a bad way. Just wipe off your brush a little before applying. It was opaque in two coats but I used three. Using three made the polish look a lot richer and got rid of the tiny bit of VNL (visible nail line) I had.

This is a great summer polish, it would be a cute pedi color. That's probably what I will use it for.

Guest Post from Pointless Cafe - Orly Preamp

I am so excited that Sheila from Pointless Cafe  agreed to be a guest on my little blog. If you haven't checked out her blog, you must. You can find her at www.pointlesscafe.com you will love her! I'm still recovering from my surgery yesterday but should be back soon! Have a great day!

I was thrilled when Pamper with Polish asked me to do a guest post for her! Naturally I jumped at the chance! So today I’ll be showing you Orly Preamp from Orly’s new Electronica Collection. My normal readers know pink isn’t really one of my favorite colors, but this one blew me away. Way to go Orly!
Preamp is a great cool-toned bubblegum pink loaded with tons of shimmer that looks hot pink and gold depending on how the light catches it. It really gives the polish a unique depth and glow and totally changes it from just pink to WOW! I think this one, because of the shimmer, will look great on both warm and cool skin tones.
Application was good. Formula was a bit on the thin side so the trick is to do very thin coats to avoid pooling. But even with that, I only needed two coats for opacity.

So what do you think? Even if you’re not a “pink person” I think this one is a must have.
Thanks to Mira for letting me do a guest post for you – I enjoyed it! ♥

Guest Post from Ashley is Polish Addicted - Elevation Polish Ama Dablam

Hello! I've had to have my gallbladder removed so I'll be taking a break from the blog while I recover. In the meantime, I have a couple of amazing bloggers who will be doing a guest post for me. I'm so grateful that they were willing to help me out. Today, the fabulous Ashley from Ashley is Polish Addicted will be sharing a gorgeous polish with you. Enjoy!

Hello everyone! I was honored when Mira asked me if I would be willing to do a guest post for her! I wanted to share something special with her readers and I think I found it!

Elevation Polish is an amazing indie brand - wonderful formulas and excellent customer service. Ama Dablam is copper and blue glittery goodness in a bottle. There is so much packed in here I am not even sure I can spot it all - copper, blue and two different shades of HOLO microglitter, blue square and hex glitter as well as round copper glitters that REALLY pop! Application was a breeze, no issues whatsoever.

I applied it over a England St. George (seen by itself in the first photo) which is a lovely green-leaning teal holo. It's in between a scattered holo and a linear holo and the formula is SUPERB. All of my a England polishes have amazing formulas and application.

All photos feature 2 coats of St. George, 1 coat of Ama Dablam (one full accent nail and a gradient on all other nails) and 1 coat of Poshe to top it off. The first 3 photos of Aba Dablam are in the shade and all other photos were taken in direct sunlight.

You can learn more about Elevation Polish by clicking here to go to their site.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I want to thank Mira for having me, I enjoyed it! ♥

Thank you Ashley! If you haven't checked out Ashley's blog, you really need to! Hop on over and give her some love by clicking here!

Cult Nails Deal With It

When I ordered Coco's Untamed Collection from Cult Nails, this is the polish I thought I'd like the least. Don't get me wrong, I love green polish. I just normally gravitate to darker shades. As you may know, I'm not a fan of neons or anything too bright and this would fall into that category for me. I was very surprised when this ended up being my favorite from the collection. I liked how it looked with my skin tone (shocking). I think the intense gold shimmer is what did it for me. It gives this polish a warmer tone and sets it apart from other lime green polishes. By the way, the shimmer is absolutely crazy. You can see it inside and outside, just the way I like it.

The formula was very easy to work with. It went on smoothly and was opaque in two coats. It self leveled perfectly, didn't pool or get gooey, and dried quickly.

It dried pretty shiny but I added Seche Vite for my top coat to protect it and give it an extra glossy look.

Isn't it gorgeous? I can't get over that gold shimmer. You can find this and other amazing polishes here

In non polish related news, I'm getting my gallbladder removed tomorrow. I have two fabulous bloggers lined up to guest post for the next two days and then I should be back. Enjoy their posts, send them some love, and I'll "see" you when I get back!

Cult Nails Spontaneous

Last month I purchased Cult Nails, "Coco's Untamed Collection". The owner of Cult Nails (Maria) let her twelve year old daughter, Coco design her own collection (lucky girl)! I think she did a fabulous job and couldn't help ordering these the day they were released. First up is Spontaneous!

Spontaneous is a rich purple creme that's full of a fine purple shimmer. In some lights, the shimmer comes off a little pink which I think is very pretty.

The shimmer stays pretty muted. It comes out more in direct light but is never overwhelming. Being a glitter lover, I do wish it was more intense.

Formula is ok, it goes on thick and can get gooey if you don't work quickly. It needed two coats to get an even finish. It takes a little extra time to dry and dries a little rough. Never fear, a coat of Seche Vite will shine it up and smooth it out.

Some polishes are worth the extra effort and this is definitely one of them.
Gorgeous!

When all is said and done, it's a beautiful polish and I'd wear it again (after I put in some thinner). ;)

This is a limited edition polish. You can snag a bottle of your own, here

I do wonder if I got a funky bottle. I have about ten polishes from Cult Nails and this is the first one that had formula issues. Let me know if you own this and what you thought of it in the comments below.

Lush Lacquer Party Rockin - Picture Heavy

You're probably going to want to know where you can get this so here ya go: Lush Lacquer

Are you back yet? Ok, this is one of my favorite glitter polishes of all time. I love the combination of colors, shapes and sizes of glitters, and the formula is perfection. Most of the glitters I have purchased from Etsy require you to fish for the glitter but not this baby. It is densely packed, the glitters are perfectly suspended, don't bleed or curl, and apply without a problem. I did use the dabbing method which is pretty standard for this type of polish in my experience so far.

My swatches show two coats of Cult Nails Spontaneous (swatch coming soon), two coats of Lush Lacquer  Party Rockin, and two coats of Seche Vite (base coat OPI Ridge Filler)

Pictures were taken in sunlight

Have you ordered this yet? I may need a back up of this one. =)

Close up of bottle. I see various sizes and colors of hex glitter (turquoise, magenta, orange, yellow, and purple) and turquoise bar glitter. Base is clear.

Love!

What do you think? Are you as smitten as I am or is this not your thing? Let me know in the comments below!
