Zoya Bevin *Picture Heavy*

So many colors like Zoya's Bevin have come out in the Spring collections it seems. I didn't have anything like Bevin when it came out and now I see shades just like it everywhere! Bevin is a soft sage green creme that came out with Zoya's True Collection. I wasn't sure how it would look with my skin tone but I love it. I can see it looking great on almost anyone! I tried it by itself first and then experimented with some flakies. As you can see, I took these pictures before I broke my nails. =)  Oh how I miss my long pretty nails!

 Zoya Bevin with Zoya Opal

Zoya Bevin and Zoya Maisie

Zoya Bevin with Essie Pure Pearlfection (index finger), Shine of the Times (middle finger), and As Gold as it Gets (ring finger)

As most Zoyas are, Bevin was practically opaque with one coat but I used two for good measure. I love the application, I had no problems. I have found that Zoya makes my favorite cremes when it comes to application. This color is very unique in my collection and I absolutely love it!

What do you think? Which layering combo is your favorite or do you like it best on it's own?

Stay tuned for more from the True Collection!

OPI Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday

I had no intentions of buying anything from the OPI Nicki Minaj collection. It isn't anything against Nicki, although she isn't my cup of tea. I just felt that there wasn't anything special in this collection. When I saw them in person at Ulta my mind quickly changed. I now love all of the polishes, with the exception of Did it on 'Em (yellowy green color). I've read a lot about how they resemble the Shrek Collection. That was before my polish addiction began so I don't have any of those in my collection to compare.

Today I'm going to show you Pink Friday. Pink isn't my go to color by any means but something drew me to this shade. It's very bubble gum pink, loud, and not my style but it's cute and fun. I'm trying to push out of my comfort zone when it comes to polish so I wanted to give this a try. I'm glad I did, it's really fun!

I'm surprised by how much I like this shade of pink. As much as I love the color, I'm not a fan of the formula. The formula is on the runny side and needed three coats to reach opacity. I can still see a bit of my nail line but it isn't enough to bother me. You can't tell in this picture but there were a few patchy bald spots toward the bottom of my nail. I didn't wait as long as I should have in between coats which is probably the cause of that. Despite the problems with the formula, I would recommend this polish.  Give it more time to dry before applying the next coats and it should be fine.

Here are some layering combos for your viewing pleasure. ; )

Index Finger: OPI - Superbass Shatter
Middle Finger: OPI - Save Me
Ring Finger: Essie - A Cut Above
Pinky: Essie - Pure Pearlfection

Essie - A Cute Above: I wasn't sure I'd like this combo, I thought it would be too much pink but I think it works!
Essie - Pure Pearlfection: I couldn't get my camera to pick up the beautiful shimmer of Pure Pearlfection. Trust me, it's gorgeous. =/

Save me is SOOO beautiful in person. There is blue and holographic bar glitter along with smaller pieces of silver glitter. I didn't think I'd like this one at all but when I saw how much is sparkles in person, I couldn't resist.
Party on my nails!

Which combo do you like the best? Would you rock Pink Friday?

Essie - A Cut Above

Essie's Luxeffects Collection is one of my favorite collections to come out in the last couple of months. Remember, I didn't have Flakies before so this was very exciting for me to pick up. I do, however, have a lot of glitter but that didn't stop me from picking up A Cut Above. Come on, it's chunky pink glitter! I couldn't separate her from the rest of her sparkly family! That would just be wrong.

Here I used one coat of A Cut Above on top of two coats of Zoya's Raven (black creme).

I love this! I want to try it on top of everything. What do you think of this, do you like it?

Essie - Shine of the Times

Flakies are huge right now. It seems that every major polish company is jumping on the flakie bandwagon and I am loving it! I've recently acquired flakies from Finger Paints, Zoya, and of course Essie's Shine of the Times. I've read that Shine of the Times looks like Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure and Nubar 2010. I don't have them to compare but the pictures look pretty identical to me. I have been dying to get my hands on 2010 before Essie released Shine of the Times. Lemming satisfied!

Check it out, it has an amazing color shift from an orange/red to a blue/green. I used NOPI Khloe had a Little Lam Lam as my base color. The first picture reminds me of fall leaves. Beautiful!

Eek, I didn't wrap my tips very well! Doh!

Gorgeous right? Shine of the Times is from Essie's Luxeffects Collection that came out over the holidays. I found mine at Ulta last month but they are still available.
