Nicole by OPI Announces Two New Limited Edition Neon Mini Kits, the Brand’s First Neon Lacquer

Nicole by OPI launches its first neon nail lacquer with two limited edition mini kits. Scandalous! Neonsincludes vivid shades of blue, purple and pink while the Notorious! Neons includes vibrant shades of green, fuchsia and orange.

Each Neons kit includes a special white base coat, to be applied before adding color, allowing true neon pigments to pop. “These kits offer the hottest hues in a mini size to complement summer styles,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Think of your nails as a blank canvas.  With these color combinations, there are endless options for creating works of art.”

In addition to the white base, Scandalous! Neons includes: Blue Neon (this blatant blue is deliberately belligerent), Purple Neon (this attention-seeking purple is a real publicity hound), and Pink Neon (this pink's purpose is to provoke your senses).

Along with white base, Notorious! Neons includes: Green Neon (this gossip-stirring green is the talk of the town), Fuchsia Neon (this fuchsia is famous for being unabashedly bold), and Orange Neon (this outrageous orange doesn't know the meaning of meek).

“The shades included in both sets are perfect for accessorizing fingers and toes with bright pops of color,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “The first step is to apply the white base coat followed by the desired neon shade; finish with one coat of Nicole by OPI Top Coat Plus to achieve intense neon color with a glossy finish.”

Nicole by OPI formulas are long-lasting, fast-drying, and salon-quality.   Scandalous! Neons andNotorious! Neons mini packs will be available in stores beginning May 2013 for $10 each at retailers including Meijer, CVS, Duane Reade, H-E-B, Kroger, and ShopKo.  Top Coat Plus will be sold alongside the kits for $7.99. In Canada, the kits will be available for $12.50 each and Top Coat Plus for $10.99 at Loblaw, Jean Coutu, Rexall, London Drugs,and Shoppers Drug Mart.

OPI DS Mystery

OPI DS Mystery was aptly named and a beast to photograph. It is a complex polish that has many faces that reveal themselves when you turn your hand or step into different light. I love it's depth and texture and only wish I could show it's true beauty. What you see in my pictures is just one layer, one face, and one dimension of this mysterious beauty.

I'm sure everyone has a different opinion on what this polish is. I see a deepened plum infused with golden shimmer and brown undertones. It's golden shimmer is visible in all lights but really sparkles in the daylight.

Just like the other polishes in my DS (Designer Series) collection, Mystery has a flawless formula. It goes on in smooth effortless strokes and only needs two coats for opacity. 

I ordered Mystery on Transdesign.com (they no longer sell OPI) but I have recently spotted it at Ulta.

OPI DS Magic

I'm having a hard time beginning this post because this polish has left me a bit speechless. I love everything about OPI DS Magic. It's a gorgeous, rich, glass fleck royal blue that absolutely glows. There is a very slight duochrome effect from blue to purple. It's stronger in the bottle but hard to see on the nail.

The formula was flawless, I only needed two coats for opacity. I used Cult Nails Wicked Fast for my top coat.

Blue polishes have a tendency to stain but I experienced no staining with Magic.

Here you can see a tiny bit of duochrome on the two fingers on the left (index and spirit finger).

I'm in love. 

I'm not sure when this polish was released but I did find it at Ulta recently. I hope you enjoyed my swatch of this beautiful polish!

OPI DS Indulgence

Last week I showed you OPI DS Extravagance with the hope of showing you my entire DS collection in a short amount of time. I had already swatched and edited three more polishes and then my laptop crashed. It's been rough lately in terms of technology but I'm trying to make it work. On to the polish, today I have OPI DS Indulgence for you to drool over. 

OPI DS Indulgence is from Fall 2012. It doesn't have the typical holographic particles like most of the other polishes in the DS line.

This beauty is a reddish orange polish infused with golden shimmer. The finish looks like a shimmery foil to me. In person it looks like a glowing fire on your fingertips. 

 

The formula is flawless. I used two thin coats and then topped it off with Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat. 

I stumbled upon a few random OPI DS polishes at Ulta. They were with the other OPIs on the top shelf. 

I wish I had all of the OPI Designer Series but I wasn't into polish when they were first released. Now, the first releases are very hard to find and quite expensive. I do have OPI DS Original though and I love it.

My Lush Haul

Hi everyone! I had some interest on my Facebook page about what I got from my first trip to Lush! Lush is a bath and body store that sells all natural and vegan products. I have been wanting to check Lush out because of the hype surrounding their cuticle butter, Lemony Flutter. I'm always looking for something to help keep my cuticles under control so I don't scare you guys off. =)

I was very overwhelmed by all of the products in Lush and had a hard time controlling myself. I wanted to try everything! Luckily I was able to keep myself in check (for the most part). Let's see what I got!

Here are the goods. 

 

On the left is Ultrabalm and on the right the infamous Lemony Flutter.

I purchased Ultrabalm for my Eczema. It's too early to tell if it's going to work but I like how it smells. So far, I'm in love with Lemony Flutter. You only need a tiny bit and it's a pretty big container. It's smells delicious and it leaves my hands soft and my cuticles easy to remove.

 I bought two tiny pieces of soap. Man, their soap is expensive! This tiny piece was $5.00. Unless it works miracles, I won't buy their soap again. I haven't tried the soap yet but I'll keep you posted. This is Honey I Washed the Kids.

This smells like...honey. =)

 Demon In the Dark Soap

This smells like mint. It's still sitting on top of the wrapper in the polish room and my entire room smells minty which I love. The lighter part of the soap is avocado I believe. 

On the left and right are Bath Bombs. The white one is Dragon's Egg and the green, Avobath. On the top is a Bath Melt called The Comforter and on the bottom is Sunny Side. 

I tried Avobath (green Bath Bomb) and it was....ok. It was cool to watch it dissolve and fizz. For some reason, I thought it was for a bubble bath. I've never used a Bath Bomb before so I didn't know what to expect. It turned my bath water a light yellowy green which was weird. It smelled really good but it didn't seem to do much for my skin. If someone gave me one for a gift, I'd be excited but I don't think I'll be purchasing anymore myself. I do reserve the right to change my mind at any moment.

Nail Mail Time

My mail box has been the source of a lot of happiness this month. I still have a couple more packages on their way. I had gift cards for Llarowe to use and some media samples that helped my wallet from having a complete melt down. Speaking of melt downs, my laptop is being held hostage at the Apple Store. I'll get it back later this week and I can not wait! Thankfully, my husband is letting me use his laptop while he's at work. Unfortunately, his laptop has a crazy sensitive track pad and I have shaky hands. Enough about my technical woes, here is the latest polish to join my stash! 

Getting Nail Mail from Cult Nails is always special. I love the Nail Mail sticker on the packages, the tissue paper, sticker, and of course the adorable polish burritos. 

This is their latest collection, In The Garden.

 I Love Nail Polish changed their base to one that doesn't smell as strongly. To kick off the change, there was a sale so I snagged four polishes. The first thing I did when these arrived was open the cap and smell the polish. It is so much better. Thank you I Love Nail Polish!

I had a few gift cards for Llarowe that I finally used. I still have two Emily de Mollys coming that I just ordered. I can't wait for those to arrive.
