FNUG Gold Stiletto

I've always wanted to try a FNUG polish so I was thrilled to get this polish to review from Llarowe. FNUG is a Danish brand that was started by Charlotte Fnugg Munksgaard. I was curious about the name so I looked it up. I figured I'd share that little tidbit. For those of us in the states this is a hard brand to get. Luckily, we can get FNUG and other international brands from Llarowe!

Gold Stiletto is a yellow gold metallic polish with a golden shimmer. In the bottle you can see tiny pieces of coppery particles but they don't seem to translate to the nail.

The formula is amazing, it applied nice and smooth. I could definitely tell that I was using a high quality nail polish. The first coat was a bit sheer but it was completely opaque by the second coat. It is extremely sparkly and shimmery which I of course love.

Here's a macro of my nail. It looks like I painted my nails with real gold.

This is a macro of the bottle. It looks a bit different on the nail then in the bottle doesn't it?
 It's quite lovely.

As you can tell by the pictures, the bottle is really small. It's 8.5 ml which is a little more than half of the size of a standard bottle of polish. This brand is more expensive as well, around $14.00 a bottle. There are many shades including this one on Llarowe's site that are for sale. Gold Stiletto is currently on sale for $8.00. Now, I'm not saying this brand is overpriced. I own quite a few bottles of polish that are on the expensive side. I just want to make you aware of how much polish you're getting for your buck.

This was my first experience with FNUG and I'm quite impressed. There are many shades from this brand that have quickly jumped onto my wish list. Have you seen their holos? Oh my...

Zoya Ziv

Zoya Ziv is more than your standard gold polish. At first glance, I thought this was Zoya Trixie's golden sister. Then, when I got it and put it on, I realized that there is more than meets the eye with Ziv. It has a foil finish with flakes of warmer gold and a teeny tiny bit of silver shimmer. The base is a yellow gold so the deeper gold flakes are a bit noticeable when the light hits it.

It has a lovely formula, I used three coats and topped it off with Seche Vite to make it extra glossy. I thought I'd have bits of gold everywhere when I removed it but it came off really well.

I usually don't care for gold, it just doesn't look very flattering against my skin tone. I get major lobster hands with golds and yellows. Ziv made me look a little pink but it wasn't as bad as other gold polishes tends to do. Go figure.

I have already shown you these but here is some nail art using Ziv.

I'm going to try to post Electra today as well. I hauled some great polishes yesterday and I want to focus on getting those up for you to see asap.

OPI Sand On Your Feet

This is also from the Ulta exclusive OPI shades from this summer. I've been looking for a nice gold polish that had a lot of sparkle. I loved this gold as soon as I saw it. I like the way it looks on my skin tone which is great because I have a tough time with gold. I haven't tried stamping with it but it seems too thin to work well for that. When I try it, I'll let you know how it works.

As I said, the formula is on the thin side. It's very easy to work with and you only need two coats for full coverage. You may want to use a ridge filler base coat, this baby shows everything.

You can see my acrylic line on my index finger in the picture above. I had to really play with the lighting and angles of my hand to get a picture that didn't look like this:

Which is why I only have two pictures in this post. The first picture was as good as it got. I apologize for the hideous lines. I think they will be completely grown out in another two weeks. These pictures are about two weeks old.

Despite it showing everything like a bad pair of khakis, I really like this polish. I love how the gold is a little....subdued? It's not as bold and yellow as the other golds I've seen. I think that's why it works better for my coloring.

Well, what do you guys think? Let me know if this is a dupe of anything. I didn't have anything too similar to this in my stash. =)
