Cartoon Nails

Hello everyone! I thought it would be fun to change things up and try some nail art. I recently saw a video by Cute Polish on how to do a cartoon nail mani. I had never seen a design like that before and it looked like something I could do so I was intrigued. If you follow my Facebook page or Instagram account, you know this is my second try at this design. My first attempt was completely ruined because I went to bed before they were completely dry. I hadn't taken pictures yet so I had to redo my nails. Don't you hate it when you work hard on your nails and then they get smudged?

For this design, I used Cult Nails Nevermore for the black and Cult Nails Ay Poppy! for the orange. I used a white striper for the white and finished it off with a matte top coat from Nails Inc.

To learn how to make this design, watch this video from Cute Polish.

Indie Nail Art Contest Submission - Cult Nails Nevermore

Don't forget to enter my giveaway to win polish from Cult Nails, I Love Nail Polish, or Indigo Bananas!

I know I just posted this design a few days ago but I decided to submit it to a nail art contest hosted by Kayla Shevonne. I've never entered a nail art contest before so I'm a little nervous. If you want to enter Kayla's contest, here is the link:

My entry features Cult Nails Nevermore and heart shaped rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store.
Cult Nails Nevermore is my absolute favorite black creme nail polish. It goes on as smooth as butter, opaque in just one coat. I decided to form a rainbow with my rhinestones simply because I couldn't decide which color to use. They are all so beautiful so I just went with it.

Thanks for looking!

Born Pretty Store - Heart Rhinestones

The last time we met, I showed you round rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store. Today, I have more nail bling from Born Pretty. This time the bling is heart shaped and I'm smitten. I had so many ideas and I wanted to use all of the colors. You may remember my St. Patrick's Day manicure using the green hearts. Here's a picture and a link if you want to see how I did it.

This mani was inspired by my five year old niece who is currently obsessed with unicorns and rainbows. So, here you go Miss Gracie, when your nails are big enough I'll do this for you. =) The nail wheel didn't have orange hearts but I think it still looks cute. I wouldn't have been able to fit another heart on my nails anyway.

For my base color, I used Cult Nails Nevermore. Nevermore is a one coat black creme and you need it. Head over here, to enter my giveaway! Nevermore is one of the prizes. I'll wait for you to come back...

Ugh, looking at this picture makes me wish I had this on my nails again. So cute!
The hearts are very easy to apply. After Cult Nails Nevermore was dry, I applied top coat (Cult Nails Wicked Fast) where I wanted to put the hearts. Then, I put a little top coat on the tip of my dotting tool so I could pick up the heart and plop it on my nail. After all of the hearts were on, I put another coat of top coat over my entire nail.

The rhinestones come in a wheel with twelve compartments. The wheel is very sturdy and keeps the colors separated.

Here is a close up of the wheel and hearts. They are all very glossy and have a silver colored backing.

You can get these hearts for $3.33, here.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I just wanted to pop in today to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day. Hopefully the Leprechauns didn't get you and your having a wonderful day with friends and family.

For my mani, I used ONE coat of Cult Nails Nevermore which is a creamy smooth black creme polish. One coat ladies. You need it. I love it. Moving on.

I then sponged on China Glaze Running in Circles from my cuticles to the middle of my nail. Running in Circles is one of the most gorgeous green glitters I have in my stash. You need it. I love it. On to the bling.

I used green heart shaped rhinestones to create a four leaf clover on my accent nail. Then I used three small rhinestones as the stem. I used a dotting tool and top coat to stick the stones on. They are from Born Pretty and I will be doing a full review of the circle and heart stones soon. I think they are adorable and I can't wait to use them again.

I used Seche Vite as my top coat.

My OCD is kicking in and this picture is making me twitch. What's worse, the clover being upside down or the bottle? *twitch*

Here's a lovely macro of the bling. Ignore the bubbles. =(

That's all for today!!
