China Glaze I'm Not Lion - Picture Heavy

As I stare back and forth from the blinking curser and the amazing... here I am again searching for an adjective that sums up the beauty that is I'm Not Lion. I'm at a loss. Tongue/finger tied if you will. It will take your breath away, distract you from whatever task is at hand, and make you cry when it's time to take it off. This is what sand in Fairy Land looks like. Tiny granules of golden glitter mixed heavily with holographic glitter that you must see in real life to appreciate. It's amazing and my absolute favorite from the On Safari collection.

The lighting inside gives it a cooler appearance and of course the holo glitter is more subdued.

In the sun, the color warms and the holographic glitter attempts to blind everyone in a small radius.

By the way, the formula was flawless. I used three coats to get complete coverage. It self leveled well and the glitter being so dense didn't require anything special for application.

Blurred so you can see the sparkly goodness.

I may be in love. Don't tell my husband. ;)

I made a video showing this polish in action. Once I figure out how to make it blog worthy and embed it in this post, you will see how freaking awesome this polish truly is.

Until then, you can pick this up and Ulta, Sally's, and other stores that sell China Glaze.

Go get it, put it on, and dance around in the sun. You'll thank me. =)

China Glaze Elephant Walk

Elephant Walk isn't your typical grey. In certain lights, it looks more green or blue. It looks a little more blue in my pictures but you'll see that it looks different depending on where you are. It also has silver shimmer that pops out more in the sun. You can see the shimmer in the bottle underneath the China Glaze logo in my pictures.

The formula was easy to work with. Elephant Walk is opaque in two coats but I used three. You can still see the lines from my acrylics growing out. They were removed but I couldn't get rid of those annoying lines.

I used Seche Vite for my top coat to make it nice and shiny.

This was one of my favorite polishes from the On Safari collection. You can find this collection at Ulta, Sally's, and other beauty supply stores.

China Glaze Jungle Queen - Picture Heavy

This polish is a must have in my opinion. I love purple and have many but this one is special. It's dark, smokey, and maybe a bit vampy. Take it out in the sun and an amazing purpley pink shimmer comes out that's to die for. It isn't too overpowering but just enough to catch your eye. I took pictures inside and outside so you can see the difference. Catching the shimmer was a difficult feat.

It's hard to see the shimmer in my pictures but it is there (when outside). I didn't have any problems with the formula, it's opaque in two coats. I've read that this is a dupe for Chanel's Paradoxal. Unfortunately, don't have that polish so I can't give you my opinion on that.

As usual, I used Seche Vite for my top coat.

China Glaze I Herd That

I Herd That is one of the two glitters in the On Safari collection from China Glaze. The glitter is very fine and gives off an over all appearance of a warm light copper. I also see a little bit of red, gold and holographic glitter mixed in which gives it an interesting textured look. I put two coats on top of China Glaze Desert Sun but it could be warn alone and have complete coverage. As you can see, you can't see Desert Sun at all.

The formula was perfect, it went on evenly and was opaque with two coats. It does have a gritty texture so a top coat like Seche Vite is helpful. I used two coats of Seche Vite to get a smooth surface.

Isn't it gorgeous? I adore glitter.

China Glaze Desert Sun

You know the little caramel squares you can get at the grocery store? That's what Desert Sun reminds me of. It may be a teeny tiny bit more orange than those delicious little squares. I'm tempted to get some so I can compare and of course snarf them down. Like Kalahari Kiss, Desert Sun is pretty unique (to me at least). Formula was fabulous, this went on smoothly and was opaque in two coats (I used three). I finished off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I'm curious, how many of you love/hate this? I think it's pretty even though I'm not a fan of browns. Let me know what you think in the comment section.

China Glaze Kalahari Kiss

For the next week, I'm going to show you my picks from China Glaze's On Safari Collection (Fall 2012). When I first saw this collection, I was disappointed. Everything seemed either boring or I already had something similar. Although I didn't want every single one, I ended up really loving this collection. The two glitters are especially amazing. I can't wait to show you those. For today, I'm going to show you Kalahari Kiss.

This is a pretty strange color in my opinion. It's a bit difficult for me to describe. Is it a dirty mustard? A yellowy tan? Khaki? A mix of all of the above? You be the judge. I was expecting this to look atrocious on my skin tone but it didn't look that bad. In fact, I actually liked it. Yellows tend to look wrong on me. I'll be using this for nail art and underwear for China Glaze I'm Not Lion (my favorite of this collection).

I took a lot of pictures but like khaki pants, this sucker shows every flaw and my acrylic lines showed in almost every single picture. So darn frustrating. The first two pictures were taken under artificial light and the last sunlight.

The formula was fabulous! It went on creamy smooth and only needed two coats (I used three) for complete coverage. It leveled itself out nicely and dried quickly. Such a nice change from the neons I've been swatching. If you like the color, I recommend this one.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading!

China Glaze On Safari Preview

China Glaze On Safari should be hitting shelves sometime next month. I'm not in love with the entire collection but a few do have me intrigued. Of course it's the ones with glitter! I may have a bit of a glitter problem...

Left to right: I'm Not Lion, I Herd That, Kalahari Kiss, Desert Sun
Left to right: Elephant Walk, Exotic Encounter, Jungle Queen, Call of the Wild
Left to right: Manhunt, Purr-fect Plum, Prey Tell, Adventure Red-y

I'm excited for the glitters of course (I'm not Lion & I herd That) but am curious about how a few of the cremes as well(Jungle Queen & Manhunt). I'm a sucker for greens but I'm not really feeling Elephant Walk and Exotic Encounter. Weird. I guess I'm just...eh about this collection. I don't love it or hate it. For the amount of polish I have, I need something really special to make me want to snatch it up.

What do you think? Do you love it, hate it, or like me not really care? Any of these shades strike your fancy? Do tell in the comment section below!
