Day 20 - Water Marbled

Oh man, this was really hard. I watched a lot of Youtube videos and thought I had a handle on how to do this. I heard that this works best with cremes which I have very little of. I have a ton of glitter and shimmers though! I don't have a lot of cremes that match each other but I did have a dark purple, grey, and navy blue. These did not want to show up on the picture, they are just too dark and blend in the photo I think. You can really see it on my pinky so just look at that finger. =) This is my second attempt. My first attempt was worse than this one and I didn't want to take pictures of it. ;p The next time (if there is a next time) I do this I will use brighter colors so it shows up better. Alright, here is the picture!

Remember, just look at the pinky. =)

Sorry about my lack of posting lately. I'm hoping to feel well enough to attempt the water marble mani soon. I did do it once but it was really bad. lol I thought about posting it to get it over with but it was just too bad. I scrubbed it off and will start over soon. I did some research and think I know what the problem was. Hopefully I'll have better luck with it! Thanks for your patience and thanks for reading!

Day 19 - Galaxy Nails

Galaxy Nails is a manicure that looks intimidating but it's surprisingly simple. I enjoyed making this mani for today's challenge. I know it's not the best galaxy nail art out there but it's my first try and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I have some ideas on how to make it better next time which is always what I want to get out of these challenges. Learn and improve right? I watched a tutorial in preparation for this challenge because I wasn't sure how to go about this design. I watched this tutorial from Cute Polish: http://www.youtube.com/user/cutepolish#p/search/0/3EMgt4_jW5U  I basically followed her instructions step by step. Mine isn't as awesome as hers but I like it!

Here are the pics, supply list will be underneath the last picture.

Day 18 - Half Moon Mani

This is another challenge that I have been looking forward to do. This is the first time trying this manicure. I love how many options there are for this. The day I planned on making my half moon manicure, my package from Cult Nails arrived with Clairvoyant/Unicorn Puke and three other polishes! One of the other polishes that came in the package is called Time Traveler. It is a beautiful navy blue creme. I immediately thought about how beautiful it would be to layer Clairvoyant on top of Time Traveler. If you aren't familiar with Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant it is a flaky polish in a blue base. It looks best layered on top of a dark colors in my opinion. It's a must have for anyone who loves polish but it can be hard to get.

How I did it: I put on two coats of Time Traveler over my whole nail and then a fast drying top coat (Seche Vite). When this was completely dry, I put on the paper hole reinforcement stickers on each nail. Then I put on a thick coat of Clairvoyant/Unicorn Puke above the sticker. I took the sticker off immediately. After I finished this step, I put another coat of Seche Vite.

On one hand I put small black rhinestones along the line of the half moon. I think it distracts the eye away from the star which is Clairvoyant/U.P. So the hand without the rhinestones is my favorite.

What do you think? Do you like half moon manis? Do you like this look with or without the black rhinestones? Let me know by leaving a comment!

Day 17 - Glitter

I have been waiting for this one, glitter is my absolute favorite. This isn't the traditional glitter you'd expect in nail polish. It's a holo of course! Holos are my ultimate favorite but I only have a few so far. This one is one of my favorites but the bottle is so darn small I have only worn it twice. Glitter Gal Lizard Belly is a gorgeous deep green (maybe hunter green?) with holographic particles. It's hard to stop looking at your nails when this is on. Driving would probably be dangerous with Lizard Belly on your nails. Here are the pictures!

Isn't is stunning? The sun is out this morning so I was able to take these pictures with natural light. I love this polish as you can tell :). Application was smooth. You can get away with one coat but I put on two. I do not have a top coat on, it seems to interrupt the effect. On the downside it shortens wear time so I'd probably put on a top coat.

I'm going to get ready for the next challenge now. I've had this on for a couple of days but I still may cry a little when I take this off.

Welcome!

Wow, I logged on to find such a wonderful surprise! 9 more followers!! Thank you for following my little blog, I'm so excited about this new adventure. Thank you to The Trace Face Philes for featuring me. I'm seriously not worthy. lol I've been admiring her beautiful work for a while now so I'm just thrilled.

I'm working on editing my pictures for my next challenge which is glitter. I used one of my beloved holos and have been hoping for the sun to come out so I can get a picture with natural light. I did take pictures tonight with the flash on my camera just in case it's still overcast tomorrow.

Here is a preview:

Can anyone guess what it is? ;)

Day 16 - Tribal Print

Ok, I admit this is a Nail Fail. I also admit that I'm looking forward to tomorrow's challenge sooo much that I don't care. I hope that doesn't make me a terrible blogger. <:/ I used my black striper to draw the black lines and my dotting tool to make the dots. I'm not very good with either tool yet so this is pretty crooked.

Here is my sad little picture:
Supplies:
OPI Envy for base coat
OPI - Skull & Glossbones
Black Striper
Seche Vete Top Coat

Ahhh, glitter is next. Thanks for reading!
