Nerd Lacquer Nebula

Nebula is the last Nerd Lacquer that I have to show you. I've really enjoyed all three Nerd Lacquers and look forward to trying more out. I've saved my favorite for last, Nebula. Nebula kills me with how stunning it is. It has a rich purple/red jelly base that is packed with several types of glitter. The most prominent colors of glitter I see are red, blue, and silver. It has micro and medium sized glitter. They seem to be either round or hexagon shaped. I've even spotted holographic glitter! Did I miss anything? Phew! This is another must have in my opinion. In case you missed it in my last two posts, this is where you can order Nerd Lacquer once it's restocked.

Nerd Lacquer Warrior Ethos

Those of you who know me well know I love the color red. I have red couches, my wedding colors were red, black and white, and I have a ton of red nail polish. There is just something about the color red that makes me happy. It's so bold, vibrant, and powerful. It's no surprise that I love this glittery red concoction by Nerd Lacquer. It's so complex, I'm sure I haven't spotted everything that's going on in this sparkly polish. By the way, does anyone know what Warrior Ethos means? I asked my nerd but he didn't know. I'll ask Mr. Google later. On with the pictures!

Warrior Ethos had a flawless formula. I only needed two coats, the red jelly base was very pigmented. I do wish I could have mixed my bottle up better. I have it turned upside down right now to help move all of the glitter that has collected at the bottom. For the most part it's very even. I love that this can be worn on it's own instead of needing to layer it. As for all of the glitter? I'm going to refer to the description Amanda, the mastermind behind Nerd Lacquer gave us. Warrior Ethos is "a bright blood red with black, iridescent, copper, and red glitter, plus medium black hexagonal glitter and large copper hexagonal glitter."

I've read that Amanda is in the middle of a move right now so it may be a while before you get the chance to snag this beauty up. Trust me though, it's worth the wait. By the way, in addition to the Etsy shop, Nerd Lacquers will be available at Ninja Polish and Harlow & Co. You can sign up for e-mail notifications (at Ninja and Harlow) when your favorite lacquers are restocked.

Do you have any Nerd Lacquers? What do you think? I love reading your comments so drop me a line!

Nerd Lacquer Antisocial Media

Whenever something is as popular as Nerd Lacquer, I wonder if it will live up to the hype. I'm here to tell you that it does. In fact, it will blow your mind with it's beauty. Was that dramatic enough? My pictures just don't do it any justice, it's so sparkly! When my package came in the mail, I opened it outside from sheer excitement. My jaw dropped when I pulled the bottles out. How can so much sparkle and awesomeness get in such a small bottle (they are regular sized bottles fyi)?? I'm convinced that Miss Amanda has magical powers.

I can't wait for the Nerd Lacquer Etsy shop to open again because I "need" more. Today I have Antisocial Media and two more sparkle bombs will be coming up soon. I suggest you start stalking the Nerd Lacquer site now because these tend to sell out fast....really really fast. I think it will be a little while before it opens again but I'm stalking it anyway.

Are you ready? Is your bib on? Ok, here we go!

Antisocial is a beautiful blue jelly packed with silver and blue microglitter and various sizes of blue, silver, and gold round and hex glitter. My description may be off, this is just based off of what I can see. I'm so glad I was able to get this, I absolutely adore it!!!

Fish Egg Friday

As I write this, I have 52 minutes left of Friday which means this counts, right? I've been wanting to do a Fish Egg Manicure ever since I saw the first one (I can't remember which one it was). I have been so busy swatching Zoya's new collection (swatches coming soon) that I just haven't gotten around to it. Then I saw this http://prettydigits.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-just-received-this-email-it-has-come.html?m=1. I don't have anything kind to say about this situation but I will pass this little jem along:

I thought that was pretty hilarious and I feel a little bad for Ciate because I highly doubt their Caviar manicure trademarking and product line is going to have much success. It's ok, Fish Egg Manis are far superior and much cheaper. Here is mine:

You probably recognize the stunning Charla by Zoya. It's one of my favorite Zoyas, it reminds me of the ocean or a mermaid's tail. The microbeads/fish eggs came from a random Bundle Monster wheel I had stuffed in a drawer. There were just enough for one nail but that's all I needed. I'm quite proud of this manicure, I'm even going to wear it for more than one day. *gasp* My camera doesn't like sparkle but let me tell you, it is blinding. Ok, I exaggerate but it is gorgeous! ;)

Oh, by the way this idea came from Dashing Diva which can be read about on this blog post from February 2011:  http://thepolishexchange.blogspot.com/2011/02/caviar-nails-by-dashing-diva-at-cushnie.html

Before I post this I must show you my nail fail. Here is my first attempt at the Fish Egg Mani:

This is Butter London Lillibet's Jubilee which just came out this week I think. I'll post more about that later. The microbeads were from Sally's and were just too big and I felt like an alien.

What do you think about this look? It isn't practical and will probably fall apart by tomorrow but it's great for a night out. Thanks for reading everyone!!

Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones

Yesterday, I showed you the amazing Floam which I purchased from Ninjapolish.com. Did you love it? You want it now right? Well, I'm back to torture you! Today, I have another hard to get polish from Ninja Polish that I got from dumb luck once again. I ordered it at the same time as Floam, they were both restocked at the same time. There was a lot of drama surrounding this polish that has since (hopefully) died down. It's a close dupe of the extremely, almost impossible to get Lynnderella called Connect the Dots. I'm not a fan of drama so I'm not going to write about that but you can google it if you need to kill time. ;) I've been on the waiting list for Connect the Dots for months which is insane so I didn't think twice when Sticks & Stones became available. It's one of my all time favorite polishes now. You can put it on everything and let me tell you....I had the hardest time deciding which polish I wanted to swatch it over.

Sticks 'n Stones is black and white bar and hex glitter with a little bit of tiny iridescent glitter in a clear base (my camera didn't pick that up). I swatched it over China Glaze DV8. It's just cool, that's all. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

If you want Sticks 'n Stones, sign up for an e-mail notification from Ninja Polish when it gets restocked and again, good luck!

Floam!!

I'm one of the very lucky few that snagged a bottle of Floam. It lives up to the hype, it's pretty awesome. It's very unique and funky and I love it. The only downfall is that it is really hard to take off. Use the foil method and keep the foil on extra long to get it off. You can wear it alone or layer it. I layered it over China Glaze Four Leaf Clover. Floam has small round pieces of yellow and blue matte glitter. It is a top coat eater, I used two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it out.

To get Floam, you'll need to stalk two places. I got mine on Ninja Polish by signing up for an e-mail notification when it got restocked. I happened to check my e-mail right when the notification was sent which was pretty lucky. You can also get it from the Nail Venturous Etsy shop. Good luck!
