Day 27 - Artwork

I'm finally back! Sorry about the long long absence. I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season!

Before I start I need to apologize for the blurry picture. I made a big mistake by not looking at my pictures on my laptop before taking off my polish. Doh!

I was a bit overwhelmed with this challenge. I love art but I'm not very good at it. I felt like I couldn't do any piece of art justice with being so new to nail art and I froze for a while. I finally talked myself into just doing what I had in my mind even if I didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I love Monet so I based my design off of this picture:

I only did an accent nail because I felt it would be too busy on every nail. Again, I'm so sorry about how blurry the picture turned out. It's hard to see what I did. =(

The design and blurriness is poor but check out Zoya Kristen! You know how much I love Zoya. I've been in a creme mood lately and recently acquired the new Feel Collection from Zoya. I'm working on a post with swatches for the entire collection (thank you holiday promos). I love every single color from that collection. More on that later!

Coming Back

Hello, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I celebrate Christmas as I'm sure you can tell by my Christmas inspired nails. =) I made Christmas dinner by myself for the first time ever. Ok...that's not a true statement. My husband made the turkey which is the hardest part I think. I've never cooked a turkey so I was thankful that he wanted to do it and it was delicious! I made everything else. I was nervous about taking on this task because I have chronic back and nerve pain. I never know how I'm going to feel day by day. I prayed that I'd feel up to cooking and was so happy that I was able to pull it off. I had to lie down a lot during the day and needed extra medication but I did it!!!! It actually took me a couple of days to do it but let's pretend I did it in one. =) My sister and her family joined us on Christmas day and my parents arrived the next day. I love my family. My family and my relationship with God is the most important thing in my life. My parents returned to California this morning. Saying goodbye is always hard for me. I'm glad I don't have to say goodbye to my sister anymore (she moved nearby last June).

I got a lot of nail polish and I can't wait to show you! It's going to take a while to swatch it but I'm going to try my best to get it on here soon. I want to finish the challenge I started. I believe I have 3 more to go. After that, it's swatching time! I'm working on the next challenge right now. I got nail art brushes and a light box so it will be interesting to see how my work improves!!

I recently hit "100" likes on Facebook and I am going to do my second giveaway this week (I hope)! I'm a bit broke from the holidays so I won't be able to do anything too huge.

I'm excited to continue with blogging and nail art. Let' see what 2012 brings!

See you soon with my next challenge!

Day 26 - Inspired by a Pattern

The nail community is filled with these adorable candy cane manicures that I have been dying to try. I decided this challenge would be the perfect time to attempt it. It was surprisingly quick, easy, and adorable! I did get a little too hasty with the top coat on one of my fingers, causing the white stripes to smudge. Alright, here are the pictures!!

Pretty cute right? All you need to do is to put on a couple of coats of red (China Glaze Ruby Pumps) and let it dry. Once dry, use a white striper brush to put on diagonal stripes. After the stripes are dry, add a coat of your favorite top coat.
