Indie Nail Art Contest Submission - Cult Nails Nevermore

Don't forget to enter my giveaway to win polish from Cult Nails, I Love Nail Polish, or Indigo Bananas!

I know I just posted this design a few days ago but I decided to submit it to a nail art contest hosted by Kayla Shevonne. I've never entered a nail art contest before so I'm a little nervous. If you want to enter Kayla's contest, here is the link:

My entry features Cult Nails Nevermore and heart shaped rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store.
Cult Nails Nevermore is my absolute favorite black creme nail polish. It goes on as smooth as butter, opaque in just one coat. I decided to form a rainbow with my rhinestones simply because I couldn't decide which color to use. They are all so beautiful so I just went with it.

Thanks for looking!

Cult Nails Quench

I've been on a Cult Nails kick lately as you have probably noticed. Can you blame me? Cult Nails has amazing nail polish. Cult Nails Quench is one of the polishes you can win in my giveaway. I know a lot of people think red polish is old fashioned but I am not in that camp. Red is my favorite color and I love a good red polish. Quench is simply delicious. Can I say delicious? You know what I mean. =)

Quench is a straight up deepened red creme nail polish. The formula is on the thick side so if applied carefully, you can almost get away with one coat. I'm not that skilled so you're looking at two coats. It quickly dries to a beautiful high gloss. I put on a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat to protect my manicure. As for making it extra glossy, it didn't need any help.

I can see why this was named Quench. It's so shiny it looks juicy. The name is a perfect fit for this beauty and I can see it becoming my go to red.

If you like red, this is a must have in my opinion. I love it by itself but it would also be gorgeous in nail art. If you'd like to have a chance of winning this, head on over to my giveaway!

You can purchase Quench on Cult Nail's website, here

Born Pretty Store - Heart Rhinestones

The last time we met, I showed you round rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store. Today, I have more nail bling from Born Pretty. This time the bling is heart shaped and I'm smitten. I had so many ideas and I wanted to use all of the colors. You may remember my St. Patrick's Day manicure using the green hearts. Here's a picture and a link if you want to see how I did it.

This mani was inspired by my five year old niece who is currently obsessed with unicorns and rainbows. So, here you go Miss Gracie, when your nails are big enough I'll do this for you. =) The nail wheel didn't have orange hearts but I think it still looks cute. I wouldn't have been able to fit another heart on my nails anyway.

For my base color, I used Cult Nails Nevermore. Nevermore is a one coat black creme and you need it. Head over here, to enter my giveaway! Nevermore is one of the prizes. I'll wait for you to come back...

Ugh, looking at this picture makes me wish I had this on my nails again. So cute!
The hearts are very easy to apply. After Cult Nails Nevermore was dry, I applied top coat (Cult Nails Wicked Fast) where I wanted to put the hearts. Then, I put a little top coat on the tip of my dotting tool so I could pick up the heart and plop it on my nail. After all of the hearts were on, I put another coat of top coat over my entire nail.

The rhinestones come in a wheel with twelve compartments. The wheel is very sturdy and keeps the colors separated.

Here is a close up of the wheel and hearts. They are all very glossy and have a silver colored backing.

You can get these hearts for $3.33, here.
You can get 10% off with the following code:

Born Pretty - Round Rhinestones

Hi everyone! Today I have some nail bling to show you from the Born Pretty Store. They are an assortment of 2mm round rhinestones that come in a handy dandy wheel for storage. If you've been following my blog for a while you know how much I love anything shiny and sparkly so you know I've been loving these.

There are so many options for rhinestones but for some reason I just wanted to cover an entire nail with them. I really loved how they turned out and kept rubbing my thumb over my nail and looking at them. I'm so easily amused.

I used Cult Nails My Kind of Cool Aid for my base color. It's a fabulous greyed out dusty purple with a killer shimmer. I then put a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast on and covered my accent nail with the clear rhinestones. After they set, I carefully applied another coat of top coat.

It looks kind of like a disco ball, right?

The rhinestones come in this wheel with a separate compartment for each color. You get twelve different colors. The rhinestones are easy to work with and are good quality. There are so many things you can do with these. All of the colors are glossy, clear, and have a silver backing except for the black which is solid and has a black backing.

Here is a close up with the compartment for the clear rhinestones open.

You can get these rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store, here for $3.33. To get an additional 10% off use the coupon code below:

Easter Nail Art 2013

Happy Easter (a day late) to those that celebrate. I hope you were able to spend the holiday with family and friends. My husband and I weren't feeling well so we stayed home and made waffles for dinner. We are much better today which is why I'm just now posting what my nails wore (I wore pajamas). =)

With not feeling very well, I didn't have it in me to do a time consuming manicure. Half Moon Manicures are so quick and easy yet they look like you spent a lot of time and effort on them.

This is what I used for this look:

Left to right Zoya Neely, Zoya Blu, China Glaze Sweet Hook, and OPI Pink Friday
Rhinestones from Born Pretty Store (10% off coupon code TPL91)
