Born Pretty Store Rhinestone Bow

Today I have a beautiful rhinestone bow to show you from Born Pretty Store. It has a rhinestone in the center with two loops on each side. One loop has rhinestones and the other is a plain silver loop. I used Zoya Miranda and two coats of top coat to get a smooth glossy finish. Then I put nail glue on the bottom of the center stone and stuck it on my nail. I held it down for about 10 seconds to secure the bow.

The bows are $2.99 for a set of five. Mine came in the bag that's shown in the picture above. They are very sturdy and I was even able to reuse the bow I used which is a nice plus.

As beautiful as these bows are, I won't be using them again. They are way too wide for my taste. They'd snag on everything and I don't think they look good with my narrow nail beds.

You can get the bows, here. They are pattern #4 so don't forget to select which kind of bow you'd like.

Cult Nails All Access Collection

I have another amazing collection from Cult Nails to show you today. Cult Nails All Access Collection was inspired by grunge music of the 90s which is when I was in high school. In addition to coming from inspiration I relate to, the polishes are amazing. This collection consists of two cremes, a crelly (or is it a jelly), and two glitter toppers.

Cult Nails Disillusion

Disillusion has a black jelly base and hot pink shards. The shards can get a little lost in the base if you layer it on it's own. I put on a coat of Cult Nails Nevermore (black creme) and then one coat of Disillusion. This way, the shards pop more. It also looks good layered on it's own (it shows more depth) I just like it better on top of black.

Cult Nails Grunge
Cult Nails Grunge is a military green creme polish. Sometimes it looks more grey than green depending on the lighting. The formula was smooth and creamy, I used two coats. I love this color and think it would be flattering on many different skin tones.

Cult Nails Lamestain
Cult Nails Lamestain is a very deep vampy red creme. It almost looks brown but when the light hits it, you can tell that it is indeed red. It also looks red along the edges of the nail. The finish reminds me a little of Cult Nails Quench. It looks squishy like it's a jelly but it isn't sheer. I only needed two thin coats for opacity so I'd consider it a crelly (creme/jelly).  I love shades like this for the Fall.

Cult Nails Wack Slacks
Cult Nails Wack Slacks is a gorgeous blue creme that has just a touch a purple. This was almost a one coater but I applied two out of habit. The formula was nice and smooth. This ties for my favorite with Feedback.

Feedback over Wack Slacks

Cult Nails Feedback has a clear base with gold, pink, and orange mylar flakes. I am obsessed with this polish. It applies like a dream. You get a ton of flakes on the brush. I only used one coat for all of the pictures. I love it when I don't have to get rid of the extra base when applying glitters, flakies, etc. It looks amazing over any color. Love it! This and Wack Slacks are my must haves...if you can only pick two that is. I love them all.

This is another amazing collection by Cult Nails! What do you think? I'd love to know which polishes are your favorite.

You can purchase Cult Nails from www.cultnails.com for $12.00.

Nail Art Society Accent with Attitude Kit

Discalimer: I am a "Renowned Artist" for Nail Art Society. I have provided my affiliate link in this post.

It's Nail Art Society time again! This month's kit is named the Accent with Attitude kit. I had a lot of fun with this kit because it features two new to me brands, Mint Polish and Hex Nail Jewelry. I was really impressed with the charms and the polish so now I have more things to be obsessed with. ;)

If you signed up for this month's kit (the deadline to sign up for this kit was the 15th) you will receive:
  • One Mint Polish (either Czarina, Buttered Rum, or Sweet Liberty)
  • Three Hex Nail Jewelry nail charms
  • 2mm square gold studs
  • Nail Art Tweezers (not shown in this post)

Left to right: Hex Nail Jewelry nail charms, studs, and Mint Polish Czarina, Buttered Rum, and Sweet Liberty

Here is a close up of the charms I received. I got a bonus charm for being a Nail Art Society Renowned Artist. I love that they aren't big and bulky since that's not my style. They have a slight curve to them so they fit my nail perfectly. I tried the owl this time and it stayed in perfect condition when I took off my manicure. I used acetone and the finish didn't come off at all. I would advise exposing the charm to acetone as little as possible so they can be reusable for you too!

I used a tape manicure with Mint Polish Buttered Rum and Czarina to make checkers on my nails. I used the gold studs on all nails except for my accent nail which is where I put the owl charm.  You can see that though so let's talk formula. Having never heard of Mint Polish before I wasn't sure what to expect. They come in cute boxes, have a great brush, and the formula is perfection. I felt like I was using a high end polish. I will definitely be purchasing polishes from this company in the future.

I wanted to show a macro of my owl nail so you can see how cute it is. Also, Czarina and Buttered Rum have a beautiful shimmer that's hard to capture but you can get a better idea of what they look like here.

This is Mint Polish Sweet Liberty. It's more coral than red and is a creme polish. Just like the other two Mint Polishes, it has an amazing formula. Oh and it's a one coater.

If you signed up in time for this kit, it should ship late November-early December. If you'd like to sign up for next month's kit, the deadline is December 15th. I apologize for not getting this post up before the 15th this month. I will do my best to get next month's post up on December 12th if you'd like to wait for the preview before signing up. Subscribers do get 20% off the A La Carte Shop which is pretty cool. You can sign up for NAS, here (my affiliate link) for $11.95 a month plus shipping and handling. If you'd rather not go through my link, you can always sign up on their website

Smokey Mountain Lacquers Holiday 2013 Collection

My favorite holiday is Christmas and I'm so excited to start showing holiday polishes this year. This collection is from Smokey Mountain Lacquers and it will be available starting Friday, November 15 from their Etsy store

The Smokey Mountain Lacquers Holiday 2013 Collection consists of five beautiful polishes. Three are metallics, one is a glitter topper, and one is a colorful glitter polish in a white base. The three metallic polishes (24 Karat, Silver Bells, and Holiday Pine) have a very similar formula. I'll describe the formula here to avoid repetition. They are super sheer on the first coat (I used thin coats) but they build up nicely. 24 Karat needed three coats and Silver Bells and Holiday Pine needed two coats for full coverage. Another tip is to give them a little extra time to dry in between coats and apply quickly to avoid dragging.

I used Duri Rejuvacote for my base coat and Seche Vite top coat with all of the polishes. All pictures were taken inside under a lamp with daylight bulbs.

Alright, let's get to the good stuff!

24 Karat

24 Karat is a yellow gold metallic/foil polish.

Silver Bells

Silver Bells is a silver metallic/foil polish.

Holiday Pine

Holiday Pine is a medium green metallic/foil polish. It looks like it has a touch of blue to it. It's a very beautiful shade of green that's unique to my collection.

Holiday Glitz over Holiday Pine

Holiday Glitz is my favorite from the collection. It's a glitter topper with a clear base and red, green, silver, and gold square and circle glitter in various sizes. It has a pretty good glitter payoff. I needed to wipe off a little bit of clear base from the brush inside the neck of the bottle which isn't a big deal to me at all. I dabbed on two coats over Holiday Pine. Love this glitter, it's very beautiful and perfect for Christmas.

 It's a Wrap

It's a Wrap is a really fun and adorable glitter polish with a white creme base and red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple glitter in a variety of shapes and sizes. Yes, I needed to list those colors in rainbow order. I can't help myself. =) I used three thick coats to get full coverage. You can also use a white creme polish and one coat of It's a Wrap on top. I personally love the depth just using this polish by itself gives. The white base doesn't completely swallow up the glitter so you can see the glitter from different layers peeking through. Most whites are a little tricky to work with. They are notorious for not self leveling very well but my top coat smoothed this polish completely out. If you like glitter polishes in a white base, you'll love this. I think it's adorable and love that it can be worn any time of the year.

Don't you think these polishes are perfect for the holiday season? This collection will be available starting tomorrow (Friday, November 15) at Smokey Mountain Lacquers' Etsy store. To stay up to date with this brand, like their Facebook page!
